LHS Staff Has Moved to Heritage
Livingston High School has been temporarily closed due to the construction to interior classrooms and hallways. All offices and staff members have been relocated to Heritage Middle School while construction is underway. The closing is expected to continue through August 4.
Livingston Celebrates Independence Day
Independence Day will be celebrated with a full day of events, culminating with the annual fireworks display on Friday, July 4, at the Memorial Park complex. The day will start with a patriotic ceremony at Haines Pool, the Kiwanis swim karnival, the American Legion baseball game, the Hisotorical Society fair, an antique car show, and a reading of the Declaration of Independence at the gazebo. Rides and activities for children as well the Lions Club Eye and Ear Mobile, will be held. A stage show starting at 7 p.m. will precede the fireworks at 9:15 p.m.
Hanover Wind Symphony to Open Series of Free Concerts at Gazebo
The Township of Livingston will once again present a series of free concerts at the municipal gazebo. The concerts will be held on four consecutive Sunday evenings, starting on July 13, with the Hanover Wind Symphony.
Three Are Fined in Municipal Court
A Livingston woman was among the three offenders fined in Municipal Court this week. Tara Siegel of 16 Crestview Hill Road, who had been charged with shoplifting and possession of marijuana, was fined $1,000 for a disorderly person charge and entered into a one year conditional discharge program for the drug offenses.
Livingston Firefighters Extinguish Blaze at Scene of Two Car Collision June 27
No one was injured and no summonses were issued in connection with a two car collision on June 27 at the intersection of East McClellan Avenue and Trinity Drive. A Volvo driven by Abie Alias of 26 Tanglewood collided with a Nissan driven by Marianne Cullen of 13 Emerson Road. The Volvo caught fire and was fully engulfed in flames when the Livingston firefighters arrived to extinguish the blaze.
