Retired Cop Saves Child
A retired police officer apparently saved the life of a four year old at Northland Pool on Sunday, August 17.
Police received a report at about 3:25 p.m. of a non-breathing child at the pool. Responding officers found retired Detective Sergeant Doug Weber, who is employed as the pool manager, performing cardiopulmonary
resuscitation (CPR) on the four year old.

County to Unveil Plans for Art Park;Tenants Oppose Initial Suggestions
The artists at Livingston’s Riker Hill Art Park, an Essex County facility off Beaufort Avenue, have opposed the county’s plans for renovating the former Nike Base. A meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on September 24 at the art park to present to the public preliminary plans for the renovation.

Site & Designer Selected for Skate Park
The Livingston Skate Park Committee, under the auspices of the Healthy Community Healthy Youth Initiative (HCHY) has announced the Livingston municipal skate park will become a reality, with a site selected and a professional firm hired to design it. The future home of the skate park/plaza will be the parcel of land between the Livingston Police Department, 333 South Livingston Avenue, and the West Essex YMCA, 321 South Livingston Avenue.

Drunk Drivers Lose Licenses
Two men were found guilty in Livingston Municipal Court this week after being charged with driving while intoxicated.

Criminal Mischief Incidents Reported
Livingston police this week were called to investigate two incidents of criminal mischief. Four youths were charged in connection with one of the incidents.

Field Inspector Locations
Appraisal Systems Inc., the company conducting the inspections of Livingston homes for the revaluation program, has announced the location of inspectors this week.
